Hossam Hassan, coach of Egypt, announced the squad for the matches against Angola and South Sudan on September 25 and 29, respectively, in the opening two rounds of Group B in the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, in addition to a friendly against South Africa in Cairo on October 4.

He added that Marwan Attia will miss only the match against Angola while serving a two-match suspension dating back to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, after he missed the third-place match against Nigeria. The team director said the camp will begin on Thursday at the National Teams Centre in Sixth of October City and continue until the Angola match.
The team will travel to South Sudan on September 27 to face the hosts, before returning on September 30 and beginning preparations for the friendly against South Africa. The goalkeepers are Mostafa Shobeir of Al Ahly, El Mahdy Soliman of Zamalek, Mohamed Alaa of Ceramica Cleopatra and Abdel Aziz El Balouty of National Bank of Egypt.
In defence, the coaching staff selected Mohamed Hany, Tarek Alaa, Rami Rabia, Mohamed Abdelmonem, Hossam Abdelmaguid, Hamdy Fathy, Ahmed Fattouh and Karim Hafez.
The midfield list includes Marwan Attia, Mohanad Lasheen, Mahmoud Saber, Emam Ashour, Ahmed Sayed Zizo and Ali Mahmoud. The attack features Ibrahim Adel, Mostafa Abdel Raouf Ziko, Haitham Hassan, Mohamed Salah, Omar Marmoush and Hamza Abdelkarim.
