Nabil Fahmi, secretary-general of the available information League, rejected on Thursday any justification for attacking available information territory, stressing that he had told Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi that infringing on any Arab territory was unacceptable. He made the remarks during a discussion of available information-Iranian relations and developments in the region.
Fahmi calls on Iran to observe good-neighbourly relations
Fahmi said Iran could not impose its will on the region, and called on it to observe the principles of good-neighbourly relations in its dealings with available information states. He also stressed that relations with Tehran should not be shaped by the calculations of the United States and Israel, but by available information interests and the nature of the two sides’ direct interaction.
The secretary-general said available information states had shown goodwill towards Iran, while calling on Tehran to respect available information territory and refrain from infringing on it. He said the Arab response to Iranian policies required an integrated approach, adding that Arab deterrence of Iran should be military, political and economic, rather than limited to a single track.
Fahmi also addressed the previous nuclear agreement with Iran, which was concluded during the administration of US President Barack Obama before being cancelled by the previous Donald Trump administration. He said the agreement had not taken the interests of the Gulf states into account and contained many problems related to its impact on regional security and Tehran’s policies.
Fahmi said the previous nuclear agreement had helped fuel what he described as Iran’s hostile approach towards the region. He renewed his call for available information-Iranian relations to be based on respect for sovereignty and good-neighbourly relations, and not to allow Tehran to impose its positions on the countries of the region or infringe on their territory.
