FIFA president Gianni Infantino has requested a review of FIFA funding after UEFA and Concacaf called for 2.1 billion US dollars to be distributed among FIFA’s member associations. The UEFA and Concacaf proposal would give at least 10 million US dollars to each of FIFA’s 211 member associations.
Funding proposals to be referred to the FIFA Council
The proposals for additional funding are due to be referred to the FIFA Council on 15 October for assessment and a decision. Infantino said no preliminary figure could be considered approved until the necessary financial checks had been completed and formal approval obtained.
The figures therefore remain proposals until they have been reviewed financially and presented to the FIFA Council.
