Samuel Eto'o, president of the Cameroon Football Federation, has been accused by former federation executives of transferring more than 567,000 euros, equivalent to 665,000 dollars, to his personal bank account. The money was reportedly paid by Russia as a fee for staging an international friendly against Cameroon in 2023.

They added that they had filed complaints with FIFA's Ethics Committee more than a year ago, saying they had received no substantive response regarding the investigation. The allegations follow previous disciplinary action against Eto'o, including a four-match suspension by the Confederation of African Football for "misconduct" during the Africa Cup of Nations.
Eto'o was also barred from attending national-team matches for six months for violating FIFA regulations during the Cameroon-Brazil match at the Under-20 Women's World Cup. His name had previously been linked to an incident in which he assaulted a fan outside the stadium during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
