Liverpool drop two points against Fulham
At Anfield, Liverpool drew 0-0 with Fulham, dropping two more points despite dominating possession and handing new signing Bradley Barcola his first league start. Victor Muñoz’s header struck the crossbar, while goalkeeper Alisson intervened on several occasions to keep a clean sheet.
The draw was Liverpool’s third in four matches since Andoni Iraola took charge. The Spanish coach said his players lacked energy after the effort required to beat Atlético Madrid 2-1 in the Champions League, and that their attacking performance was not enough to settle the match. Fulham, meanwhile, collected their first point after three consecutive defeats.
Aston Villa continue to struggle against Forest
Aston Villa lost 2-1 at home to Nottingham Forest, leaving them without a win and stuck on one point. Liam Delap scored Forest’s opener, then Alisson equalised for Villa in the 74th minute before substitute Igor Jesus gave the visitors victory with an 88th-minute goal, taking his team’s tally to five points.
Ipswich also beat hosts Crystal Palace 3-2, taking advantage of the home side’s numerical disadvantage, with Dutchman Zian Flemming scoring the winner in the 90th minute. Ipswich moved to six points. Tottenham settled for a goalless draw with Everton, remaining without a win or a goal after four rounds and moving to two points. Everton reached six points while maintaining their unbeaten record.
In London, Algerian Mohamed Bachir Belloumi scored twice for Hull City in their 2-2 draw with Chelsea. Chelsea took the lead through Morgan Rogers in the seventh minute before Belloumi scored in the 28th and 34th minutes, then João Pedro equalised for the hosts in the 66th minute.
Hull City moved to eight points while maintaining their unbeaten record, compared with seven points for Chelsea. Hull City manager Sergej Jakirović described the draw at Chelsea as an “enormous result” for his team.
