Israeli forces entered the villages of al-Aridah and Maariya in the Yarmouk Basin area of the western Daraa countryside on Tuesday, while another patrol moved near the town of Khan Arnabeh in the Quneitra countryside, where it stopped and searched a number of passers-by, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Searching passers-by near Khan Arnabeh
The Observatory said an Israeli military force entered the two villages and moved through the area, without specifying the number of vehicles involved or how long they remained there. The objectives of the operation and its outcome were also unclear. In the Quneitra countryside, an Israeli patrol headed towards Khan Arnabeh near the industrial zone. According to the Observatory’s information, the force stopped and searched a number of passers-by, with no reports of arrests.
It was unclear whether the patrol left the area after completing the searches. The developments followed a separate movement by an Israeli force on Monday, consisting of two vehicles, which entered through the Tal Abu al-Ghaithar gate and headed towards the village of Saida al-Hanout in the Quneitra countryside.
The Observatory said it had received no information about injuries or other incidents resulting from the incursion. It also did not specify how long the force remained around the village and recorded no searches or arrests during the movement. The force’s entry into Saida al-Hanout was preceded by another Israeli military movement from the Abu al-Ghaithar gate towards Wadi al-Raqad in the western Daraa countryside. During this movement, the force fired towards agricultural land before withdrawing along the same route.
Israeli movements expand between Daraa and Quneitra
The Observatory also recorded Israeli vehicles entering the town of Kodana in the Quneitra countryside, where the forces searched homes. These incidents form part of repeated Israeli military movements in the Daraa and Quneitra countryside near areas adjacent to the Golan.
The movements recorded in recent days extended from the villages of the Yarmouk Basin in the western Daraa countryside to several towns in the Quneitra countryside. The outcome of the latest incursions and when the forces will leave the sites they entered on Tuesday remain unclear.
