Israeli forces carried out heavy explosions overnight in the southern Lebanese town of Mansouri, with their echoes heard in villages and towns across the Tyre district, as air strikes, artillery shelling and demolition operations continued in several areas of the south. Israeli warplanes carried out an air strike on the al-Araish neighbourhood in Mansouri, while field reports said more homes inside the town had been set alight and engineering vehicles were continuing to demolish and destroy residential buildings.
The overnight explosions followed three blasts carried out by Israeli forces in Mansouri during Saturday, alongside the burning of homes in the Buyut al-Sayyad area. The town later witnessed powerful explosions whose echoes reached wide areas of the Tyre district.
Shelling spreads to several southern towns
The escalation also spread to other areas in southern Lebanon, as two Israeli air strikes targeted the outskirts of Haris, while artillery shelling hit the outskirts of Haris and Hadatha, Wadi Zibqin, the outskirts of Yahmar al-Shaqif and the town of Zawtar al-Sharqiya. The National News Agency reported that Israeli forces carried out explosions in the towns of Markaba, Tallusah and Mais al-Jabal, in addition to blasts targeting infrastructure and residential neighbourhoods in the town of Tairi in the Bint Jbeil district.
Warplanes also carried out air strikes on the al-Araish area between the towns of Hadatha and Haris, and on Wadi al-Ghadir between Srifa and Haris and the outskirts of Bani Hayyan, alongside artillery shelling that hit a number of southern sites and towns. Mansouri has been repeatedly targeted in air strikes, artillery shelling, blasts and demolition operations.
The town had witnessed explosions targeting homes and infrastructure in previous days, while the official school building was damaged by successive blasts and air strikes.
