Nine Palestinians, including children, were injured on Saturday when Israeli forces targeted a group of civilians on Street 5 in Khan Younis, while a pregnant woman died from wounds sustained after being shot by Israeli forces south of the city three days earlier. The injured in Khan Younis were taken to the Al-Mawasi field hospital run by the Palestinian Red Crescent Society, where they received first aid and medical care, according to the Palestinian News Agency Wafa.
Al-Sabra airstrike and rising death toll
The figures indicate that victims remain trapped under the rubble, with ambulance and rescue teams unable to reach them. The ceasefire agreement reached in October 2025 with US support officially remains in place despite shooting incidents and military operations in the enclave. Israel says its operations aim to prevent possible attacks by Hamas and other Palestinian factions.
Hamas, for its part, accuses Israel of violating the agreement and obstructing implementation of the broader phase of US President Donald Trump's plan to end the war in Gaza. The plan includes the withdrawal of Israeli forces from the enclave and the disarmament of Hamas, provisions that face challenges in being implemented on the ground.
