Israeli forces continued their air strikes and artillery shelling on various areas in southern Lebanon on Monday. An air strike targeted Wadi al-Saluki, while towns and areas in the districts of Marjeyoun, Bint Jbeil, Nabatieh and Tyre came under shelling as part of military operations that continued from Sunday night into Monday morning.

Air strikes and shelling hit several southern towns

Lebanon’s National News Agency reported that Israeli warplanes carried out air strikes on the outskirts of Kfar Tibnit and the Ali al-Taher Forest, located on the outskirts of Nabatieh al-Fawqa. Wadi al-Saluki and the outskirts of Toulin in the Marjeyoun district were also subjected to artillery shelling during the same period. The artillery shelling extended to the towns of Beit Lif and Hadatha and the outskirts of Brashit in the Bint Jbeil district.

Shells also hit Nabatieh al-Fawqa, Zawtar al-Sharqiyah and Khلة Mifdoun in the Nabatieh district, as operations continued in several southern areas during the early hours of Monday. Israeli forces fired illumination shells over a number of towns and carried out sweeping operations using heavy machine guns in Srebbine, Hadatha and the outskirts of Mais al-Jabal, as well as in Wadi al-Saluki and Wadi Zibqin.

Military movements and home demolitions in al-Mansouri

At the same time, movements by Israeli military vehicles were recorded in Hadatha, Beit Yahoun, Rachit and Mais al-Jabal. In a later development, an Israeli air strike targeted Wadi al-Saluki in southern Lebanon. Lebanese reports said warplanes also struck the valley of the town of Zibqin in the Tyre district, while artillery shelling targeted al-Mansouri, Majdal Zoun and the valleys surrounding them.

The National News Agency said Israeli forces demolished homes in the town of al-Mansouri in the early hours of Monday. This followed a day that saw Israeli military operations in other parts of the south, including artillery shelling and explosions, as well as an incursion into the Deir Mimass area of the Marjeyoun district.

The Lebanese front has been witnessing an escalation since 2 March 2026, following Hezbollah’s launch of rockets towards northern Israel. This was followed by a new war and Israeli military operations inside Lebanese territory, including air strikes, artillery shelling and ground movements in several southern areas. On 20 June 2026, a ceasefire was announced, leading to a reduction in the intensity of the clashes.

Nevertheless, areas of southern Lebanon continued to record air strikes, artillery shelling and sporadic military operations in the following weeks, culminating in the strikes and movements witnessed in the districts of Marjeyoun, Bint Jbeil, Nabatieh and Tyre on Monday.
