The International Organization for Migration said Thursday that the number of internally displaced people in Yemen reached 104,796 from the start of the military escalation in June through September 15, 2026, as fighting resumed, particularly along the country's western coast. The organization said its Displacement Tracking Matrix recorded the displacement of 17,461 families during this period.

Lahij governorate followed Taiz with about 26,400 displaced people, most of them from Al-Mudharabah district, while Aden received 3,570 displaced people. The organization also recorded an increase in the number of displaced people arriving in Abyan, Hadramout and Marib as the fighting expanded.
The organization warned that the needs of displaced families for shelter, non-food items and protection continue to grow. It urged donors to fund the humanitarian response before more families are forced to leave their homes and lose their property.
