Protesters call for rent freezes

The protesters are calling for legal reforms including rent freezes, as well as the automatic renewal of rental contracts without imposing arbitrary increases on tenants.

The protests began after Maricarmen Abascal, aged 87, was taken from her home on a stretcher on Wednesday 23 September.
