Jordan tax authority: 177.668 thousand taxpayers registered in e-invoicing system, with 321 million invoices issued this year

Jordan’s Income and Sales Tax Department announced that the cumulative number of taxpayers registered in the National Electronic Invoicing System had risen to 177.668 thousand in 2026, while the number of invoices issued through the system reached 321 million this year, covering 98.5% of the total value of goods and services sales in the kingdom.

Growth in registrations and invoices

The number of invoices issued electronically rose to 321 million this year, compared with 223 million last year, an increase of 98 million invoices and growth of about 44%.

The cumulative number of registered taxpayers increased from 17.045 thousand in 2023 to 105.251 thousand in 2024, then to 154.138 thousand in 2025, reaching 177.668 thousand taxpayers in 2026. Registered taxpayers account for more than 90% of those targeted for registration in the system.

System linked to Sanad app

The department said the expansion in the use of the system is part of the digital transformation of tax transactions and efforts to strengthen documentation of economic activity by electronically documenting invoices issued by companies, businesses, service providers, professionals, craftspeople and individuals.

The National Electronic Invoicing System was linked to the government’s Sanad app, enabling companies and businesses to verify that their local purchases were made from suppliers complying with the system. It also allows users to verify invoices electronically by scanning a QR code through the app’s digital document verification option.

The department listed on its website the names of suppliers complying with the National Electronic Invoicing System, enabling companies and individuals to verify the compliance of the suppliers they deal with.
