Uganda extradites former officer to US over arms and drugs case
Ugandan authorities transferred former officer Michael Katonji Mbirwe to the United States to face charges of conspiring to supply military weapons to a Mexican drug cartel. The extradition followed a court ruling that found the dual-criminality requirement had been met, despite the absence of a bilateral extradition treaty between the two countries.
