The centrist, pro-Ukraine United List, led by Prime Minister Andris Kolbergs, topped the partial results in Latvia’s parliamentary election with 36.5 per cent after 72 per cent of the votes had been counted. Despite the wide margin, the party needs allies to form a government coalition, while Kolbergs ruled out governing with Latvia First.

The Latvian Ministry of Defence announced that North Atlantic Treaty Organization fighter jets shot down a foreign drone that entered the airspace over the country’s east, without identifying who launched it.
