12 European countries call for stronger EU presence in the Arctic
At a summit in northern Finland, 12 European countries called on the European Union to adopt a more strategic and proactive role in the Arctic, citing what they described as a long-term Russian threat and the repercussions of previous remarks by US President Donald Trump about bringing Greenland under US sovereignty.
